This four page driving tour map combines an 1864 Central Pacific Railroad map that included the California Central Railroad from Folsom to Roseville with approximate locations of present day streets. Points of interest are marked on the map along with areas where the old railroad grade is still visible and can be walked in Orangevale Park and Linda Creek greenbelt.

Central Pacific Railroad map overlay on USGS topographic map
The picture below is the Map of the First Division of the Central Pacific RR, February 1864 over a 1980′s USGS topographic map. The goal was to see how the 1864 map showing the location of the California Central Railroad aligned to our estimate of the original CCRR grade. The CPRR map is courtesy of the California State Railroad Museum Library. This is not a finished product and not for reprint. It is a 4MB file, so if you click to enlarge it might take some time to load.
1910 American River & Natoma Water & Mining Company Canal Map
This map, although drawn in 1910, shows the California Central Railroad line that hadn’t been used in over 40 years.
Aerial Tour file
This file, once opened after being saved, will open an instance of Google Earth to run the aerial tour. To the best of my knowledge, you must have Google Earth installed on your computer to run the fly over.
