Collection of information

The website and blog of InsureMeKevin.com does not deploy any tracking software that would allow me, Kevin Knauss, to identify you or your computer in any way.

Cookies

The website and blog of InsuremeKevin.com does not use cookies on your computer to identify a return visit for the purposes of speeding up page loads or displaying advertising.

Google Analytics

The website and blog of InsureMeKevin.com does use Google Analytics code within the header of the website. Google gathers information on such items as how often a page is viewed, how long the visitor views the page, and if they go to another page or post. I can view this information to help me determine if I have a problem with my site structure and if it is performing properly. Google does not gather any information that would allow me to identify a visitor’s computer.

I have followed all new rules for the General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) https://cloud.google.com/security/gdpr/ as communicated to me by Google Analytics.

Google Ads

Google Ads are running on InsureMeKevin.com. While I have chosen the ad placement within the website, I have little control over which ads are shown. In addition, I am never given any information about which ads viewed. I do have the ability to block certain companies from advertising on my website. If you find an advertisement offensive, please contact me.

Links to other websites

I have no control over the content, tracking or privacy policies of the hyperlinks in my content or the ads that are shown on my website. I use security software that will alert me if a link may be suspect in nature and I can remove that link. This might occur if trusted website that I link to was hacked and might be phishing for information from visitors who view the site. When I am alerted, I deactivate the corrupted link.

Communication via email

If you contact me by email, I will never share your information with another website or vendor. I will not send you unsolicited emails marketing other products or soliciting your business. My correspondence will be focused on your questions.

If you send me Personal Identifying Information (PII) or Personal Health Information (PHI), as an agent I have duty and responsibility to protect that information. I make all attempts to protect, delete or destroy any PII and PHI a client has given me. I will only use this information to either answer your questions or to complete an application for an insurance product.

Comments by Disqus

Disqus is a third party commenting system InsureMeKevin.com uses for guests to post comments on blogs I have written. I do not have access to any of your Disqus account information beyond what you make publicly visible. You may receive emails as a reply from either me or another commenter to a comment you have left on my website. I will never use your Disqus email reply to solicit any business or market any product to you. Never leave any comments with PII or PHI as this information is visible to anyone who views the post and comment section.

Downloading documents

There is no tracking of who downloads any of the documents posted on InsureMeKevin.com. While I can see how many times a file has been downloaded, there is no tracking of specific users or computers.

Terms and Conditions of use

InsureMeKevin.com is available for anyone, anywhere to view. There are no restrictions on the downloading of documents and files. There are no restrictions on the copying or reposting of any of the images on my website. Some images have been purchased by a third party vendor, but I have no clue if they attempt to collect a fee from the authorize use of an image I purchased but another user copies and subsequently uses on their own website. Most of the images on my website were taken and edited by me with the exception of free images such as those available in Microsoft Word.

I do not censor comments or require prior approval before they posted. I request that you use common sense when making comments. Please refrain from using inflammatory language or comments that you know are false. I will delete profanity from comments, but I try never to delete an entire comment if it adds value to the discussion.
