Picking up hot cheese steaks.
The Cheese Steak Shop opens for business June 11, 2012 at 1563 Eureka Rd, Roseville . I was fortunate enough to drop by the day before during their pre-opening dry run. My biggest concern was if I would find something for my vegetarian son. No need to worry, they had a vegetarian philly sandwich to fit the bill.
Since I am not an aficionado of Philly Cheese Steaks, I won’t rate them. The 7″ original that I ordered was very tasty. The meat and sautéed veggies were flavorful without the excess grease I have had in some sandwiches. The interior is roomy and seems well suited for long lunch lines. I particularly like the flat screen menu boards. For some reason they are easy to read and are laid out nicely.
Situated between the movie theater and Kaiser Hospital, The Cheese Steak Shop should do a great business throughout the day. And if the service and food stay top notched, they will be a part of Roseville for many years to come.
