UC Davis Picnic Day 2013

UC Davis Picnic Day was one of the smallest in recent memories. There were fewer people, parade floats, and music venues. Perhaps they are gearing up for the big centennial celebration in 2014.

I remember, young, thin and sun bathing on Picnic Day.

UC Davis Picnic Day optimum attendee equation

While there were fewer fun distractions, the exhibits of the different departments seemed better organized, more hands-on and information packed. I only attended one dud, but some people are just dumb as a rock. Because there were fewer people, we stayed longer and spent more money. That would be an interesting economic curve to graph. What is the optimum attendee to revenue equation?

Videos, Pics and Photos

The snapshot theme was really cool this year. It is too bad more of the exhibits and events couldn’t integrate “photo ops” into their staging. If there was a Instagram or Twitter hash tag, I was unaware of it, but it would have been fun to follow and contribute. Picnic Day really needs to go more social media oriented. Pictures after the video embeds.
