The worst part of shopping for online life insurance quotes is being sucked into a scam where your contact information is sold. You innocently enter your personal information to get a quote and are almost immediately bombarded by phone calls from agents on the other side of the country. It has been my practice for years never to sell a client’s or prospect’s information and I am too lazy to hound people to make a sale.
Life insurance can be very lucrative for the life insurance company and the agent. Our health care system in the United States is really good at keeping people alive so most people outlive their term insurance policies. Agents can also do well selling life insurance if the agent can talk the prospect into getting more life insurance than they need or selling a really expensive whole life policy.
No Hounding Sales Calls
Consequently, the internet abounds with sites that offer free quotes and then sell the information to desperate agents. Agents will pay $20 for one of those online internet leads. That means they won’t just call you once, but many times over the course of several months until they either sell you a life policy or realize you will never buy from them. Similarly, life insurance companies will pay top dollar to be featured in internet search results or online display ads.
Confidential Life Insurance Quotes
So how is getting a quote from me different from other agents? First, I don’t sell my client’s information to anyone. When I give you a quote, no one else will call you, probably not even me. I figure if you have questions, you will contact me when you have a chance. Second, I don’t hound people because that is not the way I want to be treated. Finally, I’m not going to try and up-sell you on more expensive of ancillary products.
I am not an evangelist for life insurance. It has its place as a financial instrument to protect families, the future of children, and in certain business situations. Not everyone needs life insurance, and if they do, it is usually for those critical periods when a family is growing and the loss of the primary wage earner would devastate the future plans of the family. This means I lean more toward the less expensive term life options in most situations.
Another issue is that many people have health challenges. If you are like me, I don’t want to divulge my health issues to an unknown online application. Privacy is important. But people with a variety of health conditions can still get life insurance.

Life insurance is a big decision that should not be made in haste. You need to get all the information and think about it. Procrastination isn’t necessarily a bad thing. Once I get you the quotes and information, the ball is in your court. If you want to move forward with an application, you contact me. I’m not in the business of hounding people to push them to make a decision they are not yet ready to make. You can call me, Kevin Knauss, or contact me through my Contact page.
