Olive orchard along historic Pioneer Express Trail in Folsom
The highlight for me was running through the old olive orchard. Even though many of the trees have died, a healthy stand of fruit bearing trees still exists.
Folsom Prison Canal Trail Run
Today, everything is dwarfed by Folsom Dam completed in 1958 and made the original 1895 Folsom dam, canal and powerhouse obsolete.
Lake Natoma trail run
Most of the trail will be single track and you may have to step into the weeds when passing people. Eventhough I didn’t see any critters on my run, it is not uncommon to see snakes so it is best to stay on the trail if you can.
