Shingle’s Rash, Back Pain, And Skin Sensitivity
Tuesday evening I took a shower and this rash had blossomed around my waist and butt. The most uncomfortable outbreak was around my couch and between my legs, not to mention it just looked awful. I was the perfect candidate to have a flare up of the herpes zoster virus also known as Shingles when it manifests itself as a rash. I was over 50, had chicken pox as a child, and had not had the Zostavax vaccine to prevent Shingles.
Tax Cut and Job Bill Changes For Covered California Estimated 2018 Income
If you own a small business or receive income for a service you provide, and most likely file a schedule C with your tax return, you should consider having your estimated taxable income reviewed by your tax planner. The IRS has noted that as they develop guidance for all of the changes to the tax regulations for 2018 they will be posting them on their website.
Out of Network Lab Costs Can Be Expensive
In the case of this specialty genetic laboratory test, the lab billed $8,000 for the test. The health plan determined that the Allowable Amount was $3,000 for the test. The health plan paid 50% of the allowable amount in the form of a check to the plan member. Oddly, the Evidence of Billing indicated that none of the $8,000 claim was covered, even though they sent a check to the plan member for 50% cost-sharing for the test. Regardless, the plan member is still responsible for full $8,000 to the lab for the test.
Print A List, Check It Twice For Your Health Insurance Doctors
Because of all of the numerous ways a provide network search can give incorrect results, I am now recommending that people print out a list of providers in their area. Usually the list can be created in a PDF format that is searchable with Adobe Acrobat Reader. You can look through the list of doctor names alphabetically. You might see Dr. Balabat and realize that is your doctor when you thought the name was spelled Baladat.
Covered California Hides Income Summary And Other Annoying Changes To Application
Another annoying change Covered California made was adding little pop-up windows asking for more information called One More Thing. After submitting a change to the income, Covered California wants to know if anyone is pregnant. The only way to get around this is to select the Edit button and select Nobody from the household member selection.
Pharmacy Pricing For Sex Toys, But Not For Prescription Drugs
I have no problem with these pharmacies running online porn shops. But if they can give the retail price for dildos, vibrators, and prostate massagers, you would think they could advertise their retail price for Abilify, Advair Diskus, Enbrel, Humira, Lantus Solostar, Remicade, or Sovaldi. These are some of the top selling brand name drugs people rely on every day to maintain their health.
Separate But Equal Health Insurance, Is It Right?
Access to health care services is not equal in the United States. Your health plan determines the type of care you receive. The health plans in the employer, individual, and Medicaid markets are separate and they are not equal. The ACA moved us in direction of more equality for all residents regardless of the market type of the health plan. Current Republican proposals under President Trump will widen the gap in disparity between group plans and individual plans. We need to move in a direction the guarantees access to the same level of health care services regardless of whether you work for government, a large employer, have your own individual plan, or are awarded Medicaid because of your income. It is time to dismantle the flawed ‘separate but equal’ assumption of health insurance in the United States.
Why I oppose SB 562 California Single Payer Plan
First, let me clear that I support the concept of a single payer plan for health insurance coverage. It has worked relatively well for Medicare beneficiaries and a similar concept could be mirrored nationwide. However, proponents of Senate Bill 562, the single payer legislation, are long on promises and short on details. If we have learned anything from the launch of Covered California to serve as the market place for ACA health insurance it is that the best laid plans are far harder to execute than anyone could imagine.
Kidnap, Ransom, Extortion, Illegal Detention Insurance For USA and Foreign Travel
All of these events can cause a financial loss to families and companies. Sometimes the monetary loss is the ransom paid. Other times it is the loss of wages, productivity, and property or from the action of a threat. Events such as illegal detention can cause a loss. For example, a same-sex married couple travels to another country where being gay is a crime. A gay person may be detained just for unwittingly informing someone of their sexual orientation. The insurance would then be triggered under the illegal detention provision and resources would be devoted to extricating the person or family from the country where they are being detained.
