Members of Western Health Advantage (WHA) have been notified that beginning in 2018 they will no longer be able to have a UC Davis Medical Group doctor as their primary care physician. WHA has already started working with current members to transition to a new PCP with Mercy Medical Group, Hill Physicians, Woodland Clinic, or NorthBay Healthcare. However, if you don’t want to give up your UC Davis PCP and specialists, there are other health plans that UC Davis Medical Group will accept.
For years the UC Davis Picnic Day parade name has belied the truth of the event. Far from a mid-western farm festival, the Picnic Day parade has consistently had the most diverse participants of any celebration I’ve attended. The parade is a spectrometer of the local area showing the variety of community and religious groups, liberal protests, conservative causes, campus groups and parade music from different bands. All of these folks from different races, cultures, religions and political philosophies walking together down the parade route. This is America. This why I keep coming back to Picnic Day. This renews my faith and hope for the future of humanity.
It highly unlikely that this AgStart-Tech-Center of innovation will be able to add much to California other than becoming another impoverished program begging for tax dollars every year.
“A Tropical Affair” held on a large grassy area was a fundraiser benefiting the Firefighters Burn Institute, UC Health System and Shriners Hospital for Children, Northern California.
The parade is a reflection of community spirit and campus pride bundled up with some marching bands and fire trucks. But as usual, the whole Picnic Day atmosphere is pretty family friendly.
I understand that we can’t keep college fees low forever. But when the fees increase far faster than the college fund you established for your children when they were born, you get a little depressed.
The law also punishes the young, the poor and women (who historically earn less income), disproportionally — those who at the time of a medical injury may not have achieved the economic means of others. Their honorable effort to compensate fully and award $1,200,000 to the plaintiff was automatically reduced to the maximum, $250,000.
